Refresh – Xtreme

Many young people in Falkirk and Central Scotland have not heard any truths from the bible. They are being led astray by lies and the deceptions of this world. Young people are taking bad choices everyday. They believe lies as truth and have distorted the meaning of marriage, love, sex, happiness, family, friendship and other concepts which are fundamental building blocks of a community. As Christians if we remain silent the next generation will end up in a godless culture much worser than what we see today.

The bible says,

“How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?”.

We need to take the gospel to the young people. Refresh – Xtreme is a project that involves creative and innovative ways to take the gospel to the young people in Scotland. Young people spend a lot of time in social media and so the primary purpose of “Refresh – Xtreme” is to take the gospel via creative channels in social media.

What does it involve?

It involves posting a short 5 minute gospel truth clip using creative clips, musics and media to present the gospel to the younger generation without compromising the good old gospel message. Clips will be created on practical, simple topics that can help the younger generation such as “purpose of life”, “overcoming addiction”, “depression”, “regrets” etc. along with a message of salvation using practical bible stories and visual aids. The clips will be promoted in social media campaigns targeting young people in Scotland upto 2000 people a week.

How can I help?

  • You can help by supporting this project in prayer
  • You can help this project by sharing the clips to your friends and families
  • If you have a camera and a passion to help take the gospel to the young people in Scotland, you can help by recording a short clip, not more than 3 to 4 minutes. We suggest taking this clip preferably in an outdoor location or in a well lit condition at home. We suggest the message to be addressed to young people on a practical topic using visual aids and bible verses and always ending with a call for salvation. You can send your clip to the email address davidsonsamuel@yahoo.co.uk and we will take care of the rest.

Few useful tips:

  • If you are visiting a park or a historic location, take a short clip in front of those places as location does matter!
  • Think of a young person to whom you would like to give this message and speak it with passion and authority.
  • People tend to quickly skip the clips in social media if its too lengthy, monotonous or dull. The first 10 seconds in the clips are very key to hold the audience and so try start your clip with a sentence that gets the attention of your audience.
